Ökodorf Sieben Linden There are several ways to get to know the ecovillage:Cafe Sieben LindenOn the first Sunday of every month (except January and August) from 2 ‘til 5pm you are welcome to just drop in and get a first impression. There is a guided tour and information is available, as well as tea, coffee, and home-made cake. Summer CampAugust 2005Would you like to experience living in a community for a week? Would you like to see how we live in Sieben Linden? See how we cope with problems and conflict? What our dreams are and how we go about living them... the opportunities for personal development, especially for the children... If you would like to experience being part of a group of like minded people; to cook, eat, work, talk, laugh, feel and celebrate together, participate in cultural events in the amphitheatre and yurts... If you would like to take part in workshops on theatre, meditation, feelings, deep ecology, creative writing, community, culture and much more... The summer camp will be for you! On the first day we divide into groups that get together every morning for workshops. In the afternoons there are more workshops, music, massage, discussion groups, games and so on. You are welcome to contribute with any talents and experience you may have! In the mornings, and sometime afternoons, kids can go to the kindergarten and special children’s workshops. Please note that all events are generally held in German language. VolunteersWe offer several different possibilities for volunteers to come and work with us. Some weeks we accept volunteers to work with us for 6-8 hours a day in exchange for food and lodging. Other working weeks deal with a specific project, and for some we request a financial contribution. These weeks offer a good opportunity for the volunteers to get to know each other, the ecovillage and the people who live here. You are welcome to participate in the social and cultural life of the community such as yoga or the choir. Guests are very welcome to share any of their talents with us, like music or talks. We would ask you to apply in advance and if possible to arrive on Sunday afternoon and depart on Friday afternoon. If you stay for two or more weeks you can stay the weekends in-between free of charge. Please check with the office for possibilities of coming to work with us other than those weeks scheduled in our program; often we can make individual arrangements. Except for the Cafe we ask that you arrange your visit in advance. How to get herePlease use public transport if at all possible. The nearest railway stations are Salzwedel and Oebisfelde (our local station has unfortunately being closed down). From there take bus 422 to Poppau-Ort. This is about a kilometre from the ecovillage, and you can easily walk from there. For those of you who come by car we charge €2.50 per night for car parking. This money is used for the maintenance of our visitors bikes.
